Tradition, or Animals?

These beautiful creatures are being killed in Japan, Samoa, and lots of other countries , and some of the targeted species are already endangered species of whale (eg: the Humpback whale). "So?" you may be saying, "just make a law against the killing of whales". Well, its not as simple as that, the problem being that Whale hunting and meat is a tradition in these countries, and part of their culture and heritage, yet, the Humpback whales numbers are estimated around 30,000 to 40,000, approximately one third of pre-whaling levels. Once, the Humpback was hunted to the brink of extinction, although now its conservation status is vulnerable. The Whale hunting is also bringing down the business of whale watching, ARGH!!! Even though some laws have been made, it is known that there have been a large number illegal killings.
But what do you think, how could it be fair for everyone?

i really wish it was as simple as making up a law. whales are so bueatiful and i would hate it if they ended up extinct. this is going to be about the billionth animal desroyed by humans unless we can stop whale hunting.

I wonder if there even is a purpose for whaling?
whale are fascinating creatures and deserve to thrive happily like any other animal.

its wonderful that you can see more than one perspective. this shows you are a reasonable person who will be able to form well reasoned opinions in your own life. an excellent skill to be able to be impartial.

top work!

Yes. Whales are just like any other animals and the shouldn't be laws against it although w3e do have a right to ban it in our country as well as any other country (thats up to the country) but you could put a limit on certain kinds of whales that are endangered...

i also think that if the whales are being killed because of tradition, they should be killed traditionally, rather than then guns and recent technology they are using.
